Knitting Pattern Materials

5 (5, 6, 7) skeins of Plie 100% Silk 125yds/50gms 2 (2, 2, 2) skeins Beaded Lace 100% Silk with petite glass beads 165yds/50gms.

  1. US 6 needles circular needles 24 inch
  2. US 6 straight
  3. US 5 circular needles, 24 inch
  4. US 5 dpns
  5. 2 st holders

Gauge – 18 sts and 24 rows to 4″ in st st (blocked) Plie on 6 US needles.

Body

With Plie 6 US circular needles cast on 17 (18, 20, 22) place marker – left front, 34(36, 40, 44) pm center front, 17(18, 20, 22) pm right front, side seam, 17(18, 20, 22) pm left back. 136(144, 160, 176) sts. Work in the round in st st until piece measures 3(3.25, 3.5, 4) inches. Decrease rnd: knit to 2 sts before first marker, skp,sm, work across center front, sm, k2tog, work right front, sm, work back right to 2 sts before marker, skp, sm, work center back, sm, k2tog, work to end,sm. 132 (140, 156, 172) sts.                                                  Work decrease every 6th row 5(6, 6, 7) times more 112 (116, 132, 144) sts. Increase rnd: Work to left front to 1 st before marker, increase 1 st by knitting into the base of the next st,sm, work center front, sm, inc 1, work to end, sm. 116 (120, 136, 176) sts.

Divide For Armhole

When piece measures 14.5 (15.5, 16, 17) inches, bind off 2 (3, 4, 4) sts, work across left front, center front, work until 2(3, 4, 4) sts before side seam marker placing all the front stitches on a holder, bind off 4(6, 8, 8) sts, work across back to end of rnd.

Change to straight needles, turn work and continue in st st. Bind off 2 (3, 4, 4) sts at the beg of next 3 (1, 1, 1) rows. Dec 1 st each side every other row 2(2, 3, 4) times, 56 (62, 66, 72) sts. Work in st st until armhole measures 6.5(7, 7, 7.5) inches. With right side facing, bind off center 18(20, 20, 22) sts. Bind off 3(4, 4, 4) sts at both neck edges 2 times, then 1(1, 2, 2) sts 1 time. Place remaining sts on holder. 12 (12, 13m 15)sts.

Work Front

Work front as back until armholes measures 2 (2, 2.5, 3) inches, bind off center 20 sts. Decrease 1 st at both neck edges every row 0 (2, 3, 3) times, then every other row 6(7,7, 8) times. Work straight until armhole measures same as back. Using the 3 needle bind off method, seam the shoulders.

Sleeves

With size 5 dpns and Beaded Lace, cast on 50(54, 58, 62) sts. Place marker at beginning of rnd. Purl 3 rows. Change to size 6US needles and Plie, knit 2 rows. Continue knit in the rnd increasing 1 st before and after the marker every 4th rnd 3(4, 4, 5) times. 56(62, 66, 72) sts. Work in st st until piece measures 3.5(4, 4, 4.5) inches.

Shaping The Cap

Bind off 2 (3, 4, 4) sts on either side of the marker at the beginning of the next 4 (2, 2, 2) rows. Dec 1 st each side every other row 2 (2, 3, 4) times. 44(52, 52, 56)sts. Decrease 1 sts each side every row 0(4, 0, 1) times, then every other row 10(10, 11, 14) times. Bind off 2(2, 3, 2) sts at the beg of the next 6 rows. Bind off remaining 12(12, 12, 14) sts.

Block pieces and sew sleeves into body.

With wrong side facing, size 5 circular needles and Plie, starting at the left shoulder edge, pick up 4.5 sts to the inch evenly around neckline adjusting to a multiple of 3. Place marker at the beg of rnd. Purl 1 rnd. Change to Beaded Lace and purl 3 rnds. Turn and work from RS of sweater.

  • Rnd 1 *p2, k1, rep from * to end of rnd.
  • Rnd 2 *p2, kfbf, rep from * to end of rnd.
  • Rnd 3 knit the k sts and purl the p sts.
  • Rnd 4 * p2, kfb in the first and last knit st of motif, rep from * to end of rnd.
  • Rnd 5-8 repeat Rnds 3 and 4.

  • Rnd 12 repeat Rnd 3.
  • Bind off.

Block piece weave in loose ends.
