Cable Pat A (Worked over 12 stitches):
Rows 1, 5, 7 (Right Side): Purl 2, Knit 8, Purl 2.

JACKET
Cast on 134 stitches. Knit 8 rows increase 20 stitches evenly spaced on last row – 154 stitches. Place pats as follows:
Row 1 (Right Side): Knit 5, place marker, * pattern A Row 1 over next 12 stitches, place marker, Knit 4, place marker, [pattern B Row 1 over next 17 stitches, place marker, Knit 4, place marker] twice, pattern A Row 1 over next 12 stitches, place marker, Knit 4; repeat from * once; Knit 1.
Row 2: Slipping markers, Knit 5, * pattern A Row 2 over next 12 stitches, Knit 4, [pattern B Row 2 over next 17 stitches, Knit 4] twice, pattern A Row 2 over next 12 stitches, Knit 4; repeat from * once; Knit 1.Rows 1 and 2 establish pattern placement and Garter stitch between pats and at edges. Work as established, working appropriate rows of pats A and B until 7” from beginning, end pattern A Row 8.
Divide-Left Front: Keeping continuity of pats, work across 40 stitches and place on holder; work next 74 stitches and place on holder; work remain 40 stitches. Work even until 7½” from beginning,end Wrong Side row.
Buttonhole Row: Work to last 5 stitches, Knit 2, yarn over, Knit 2 together, Knit 1. Work even for 15 rows; repeat Buttonhole Row. Work 7 more rows, end Right Side row.

Back: With Wrong Side facing, join yarn to 74 stitches on holder. Work even until back measures same as Left Front to shoulder.Bind off.
Right Front: With Wrong Side facing, join yarn to 40 stitches. Work as for Left Front, reversing shaping and omitting buttonholes.
