Cast on 100 (112) sts.

Row 1 (Right side): (K2, P2) across.

Repeat Row 1 for pattern until piece measures approximately 10½”(11”) [26.7 (28) cm] from cast on edge, ending by working a wrong side row.

How to Knit The Crown Shaping

Row 1 (Right side): (Knit2 tog, Purl2) across: 75(84) stitches.

Row 2: (Knit2, Purl1) across.

Row 3: (Knit1, Purl2 tog) across: 50(56) stitches.

Rows 4-6: (Knit1, Purl1) across.

              Size Small Only

Row 7: Purl2tog, (Knit2 tog, Purl2 tog) across: 25 stitches.

Row 8: Knit1, (Purl1, Knit1) across.

Row 9: Purl1, (Knit1, Purl1) across.

Row 10: Knit1, (Purl1, Knit1) across.

                Size Large Only

Row 7: (Purl2tog, Knit2 tog) across: 28 stitches.

Row 11: K1, (Knit2tog, Knit1) across: 17 (19) stitches.

Cut yarn leaving a 16” (40.6 cm) end. Thread yarn needle with end and weave through remaining stitches. Draw up firm; fasten securely.

FINISHING                                                                                                                     With right sides together and matching stitches, sew seam.
