Crochet Hook: 5.5mm [US I-9].
12” Two-Slider Zipper (Coats & Clark Art.F.53), yarn needle, sewing needle and matching thread.
GAUGE: 14 single crochet = 4”; 10 rows = 4” in single crochet. CHECK YOUR
GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Special Abbreviations:
single crochet2tog (single crochet dec) = Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.
BAG (Front and Back Alike)
Chain 27.
Row 1 (Right Side): Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in next chain, [2 single crochet in next chain, single crochet in next 2 chain] 8 times – 34 single crochet.
Row 2: (Ch1), turn, single crochet in each single crochet across.
Row 3: Chain 1, turn, 2 single crochet in first single crochet, single crochet across to last single crochet, 2 single crochet in last single crochet – 36 single crochet.
Rows 4-13: Repeat Rows 2-3 for 5 more times – 46 single crochet.
Rows 14-16: Repeat Row 2.
Row 17: Repeat Row 3 – 48 single crochet.
Repeat Rows 14-17 twice more – 52 single crochet.
Work even piece measures 10” from beginning, end with a wrong side row.
Shape Top
Left Side
Row 1: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in first 18 single crochet, slip st in next single crochet. Leave remaining sts unworked.
Row 2: Chain 1, turn, skip slip st and next single crochet, slip st in next single crochet, single crochet across – 16 single crochet.
Row 3: Chain 1, turn, single crochet to last single crochet, slip st in last single crochet – 15 single crochet.
Rows 4-7: Repeat Rows 2-3 twice more – 9 single crochet.
Rows 8-10: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in each single crochet across.
Fasten off.

Right Side
Row 1: With right side facing, skip center 14 single crochet, join yarn with slip st in next single crochet, single crochet in each single crochet to end – 18 single crochet. Work as for Left Side, reversing shaping.
FINISHING
Sew Front and Back together along bottom and side edges.
Strap
Row 1: With right side facing, join yarn in first single crochet on last row of one Top edge, chain 1, work 18 single crochet across both sides of Top edge.
Row 2: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in first single crochet, single crochet2tog, single crochet across to last 3 single crochet, single crochet2tog, single crochet in last single crochet – 16 single crochet.
Rows 3-5: Repeat Row 2 – 10 single crochet.
Work even until Strap measures 18” from Top edge, end with a right side row.
Increase Row: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in first single crochet, 2 single crochet in next single crochet, single crochet across to last 2 single crochet,
2 single crochet in next single crochet, single crochet in last single crochet – 12 single crochet.
Repeat Increase Row 3 more times – 18 single crochet.
Last Row: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in each single crochet across.
Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing.
Sew end of Strap to last row of opposite Top edge. Fold long edge of Strap in half to wrong side and sew closed.
Top Opening
Sew Top edge of Front and Back together for 2” from each Strap on either side for opening for zipper.
Zipper Edge Round
With right side facing, join yarn at zipper opening, chain 1, single crochet evenly around, slip st in first single crochet.
Fasten off.
Sew zipper into zipper opening.
